CHOPIN 2010 Celebrations office

Will information on key events available in hardcopy?

Yes, in mid-February, marking the launch of the Chopin Year, we are planning to publish the Chopin Year Events Guide. We will also be releasing monthly bulletins outlining the key events of the particular month. The bulletin is going to be available at the Chopin 2010 Information and Education Centre located at the Kordegarda Gallery in Warsaw. Everyone who has registered at will also be receiving an e-newsletter.

Are there any posters I can get from the Office?

No, at this moment the Chopin 2010 Celebrations Office does not have any posters at its disposal. However, the Office owns right to designs by Waldemar Świerzy, Andrzej Pągowski, Joanna Górska and Jerzy Skakun created especially for the 200th birth anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin, which will soon go to print. The posters promote the general idea of the Chopin Year and raise public awareness about the jubilee as a large-scale global initiative.

Can schools and culture centres get the Chopin Year gadgets and publications free of charge?

The Chopin 2010 Celebrations Office has a certain number of promotional gadgets and publications at its disposal and may distribute them free of charge, e.g. as competition tokens (justified requests should be sent by e-mail). However, the Office does not have a special budget benchmarked for this purpose and is not able to distribute the materials to all interested entities on a national scale. If you are interested in receiving free publications, please contact the Publications Unit of the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw.

Are there any educational resources I could use?

The Information Resource at contains a wide variety of educational materials, links to reliable websites exploring Fryderyk Chopin's life and work, as well as contact details of colleges of music and culture institutions which may assist you in obtaining the educational materials you need. The resources posted at the portal may serve as supplementary teaching material or be used as a starting point to a class/talk.

Are there any photos I could use in my promotion materials?

You are welcome to use royalty-free photographs from the Chopin 2010 Celebrations Office's image bank, each time, however, indicating the author of the photo you use.
