Chopin – a bit of classics, jazz and rock

The concert is an invitation to discover the music of the greatest Polish composer in an entirely new, contemporary context.

Not steering away from the classics and opening up to the needs of younger audiences, the project presents rock and jazz adaptations of Chopin's compositions. The artists are excellent interpreters whose performances have been thrilling the world's audiences for many years now. Universal musical message of the compositions, full of well known melodic themes allowed for creating the programme of the concert which is appreciated by all lovers of Fryderyk Chopin music. Artists who have performed in the project so far: Janusz Olejniczak, Joanna Ławrynowicz, Leszek Świdziński, Tadeusz Szlenkier (classic), Leszek Możdżer, Anna Serafińska (jazz), Royal Quartet / Fusion Strings Quartet, Rock Loves Chopin Project (rock), musicians: originally: Radek Chwieralski, Wojciech Pilichowski, Szczepan Walczak, Tim Flavio, Tomek Mądzielewski; at present: Marek Raduli, Jacek Królik, Ryszard Sygitowicz / Marek Napiórkowski, Michał Jurkiewicz, Łukasz Adamczyk, Wojtek Fedkowicz; and the modern dance group Folies Dance Company supervised by Marzena Barcik. Dancers' costumes are designed by the outstanding Polish fashion designer Maciej Zień. Author of the project: Andrzej Matusiak, director of the Stołeczna Estrada. The compositions' universality and their use of many very popular melodic themes makes the concert appealing to a wide array of listeners.
