Education and Artistic Project "Chopin Year 2010" (presentations and music)

As a combination of multimedia presentations and music, the project aims to promote Fryderyk Chopin’s work among foreign (also non-European) culture and education institutions, and opinion leaders. It is targeted first and foremost at the great number of classical music lovers who cherish Fryderyk Chopin’s genius.

The project is devised for institutions promoting Polish art and culture, various culture institutions, Polish diplomatic posts, Polish Institutes, Polish communities abroad, etc.
The project's underlying idea is to show Polish art's contribution to the world's culture as a whole. We want to present the relations between Chopin's music and other arts, such as painting or poetry, and to make a reference to the philosophical movements, cultural and social transformations and historical developments that formed the basis for Poland's greatest composer's work.

The project embraces three autonomous topic areas:
I. The Beauty of Logics – Bach
The Logics of Beauty – Chopin
II. Chopin - A Poet of the Piano
III. Symbols of National Identity in Chopin Music
Each individual topic is to be discusses at a separate meeting with the audience, by means of a presentation followed by a concert, lasting for about 90 minutes altogether.

The authors:
Professor Wiesław Piękoś
Justyna Maria Etsuko-Piękoś, M.A.
Piotr Kędzierski, M.A.
