Exhibition of Chopin Posters

A collection of 35 Chopin posters by excellent Polish graphic designers who took part in the 2009 Best Chopin Poster Competition held by the Mazovia Region Centre of Culture and Arts, the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the Institute "Media Art" (pl. "Sztuka Mediów").

Held under the theme "Fryderyk Chopin’s 200th Anniversary of Birth: 1810-2010", the competition aimed to create a collection of posters exploring life and work of the extraordinary artist.   

On the 26th of October 2009, the following prizes and distinctions were awarded by the judges professor Stanisław Moryto, Ferdynand B. Ruszczyc, professor Janusz Stanny, professor Waldemar Świerzy, professor Stanisław Wieczorek (president of the jury):

1st Prize: Michał Łojewski
2nd Prize: Marcin Markowski
3rd Prize: Marek Freudenreich

The exhibition will open on the exact day of Fryderyk Chopin’s 200th birth anniversary that is on the 1st March 2010 at 6 p.m. at the Test Gallery in Warsaw (34/50 Marszałkowska Street). Starting from the 1st March, the exhibition may also be showcased at different venues as it was designed to be displayed simultaneously at various locations.

Visual arts  

Technical requirements
The exhibition may be displayed either in B1 or B2 format, depending on the venue. It may be an individual event or accompany concerts held throughout the Chopin Year. Feel free to contact the organisers to discuss details of future cooperation.  

Previous executions of the project
The following locations have already expressed interest in hosting the exhibition in 2010: Pułtusk, Sierpc, Przasnysz, Sanniki, Otwock, Józefów, Gostynin, Ostrołęka, Podkowa Leśna, Mińsk Mazowiecki, Płońsk, Marki, Solec Kujawski, Nakło nad Notecią, Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Grójec, Radom, Piastów, Pruszków, Płock in Poland, as well as Baku (Azerbaijan)
