The show is inspired by Fryderyk Chopin’s life and work and is based on biographical motifs, memoirs and letters. It combines actors’ play, live music and dance.

The organiser's description:
The spectacle "Chopin: Passions in Major and Minor Scales" is a study of a great artist’s loneliness, an artists who loses himself in music in an attempt to turn back the hands of time and fend off the imminent death. Rich inner life, the fear if incompleteness, of failing to compose everything he wants to compose, intensify the character’s anxieties. His life becomes to resemble a dream interwoven with reminiscences of the past. The preludes composed in moments of anxiety are beginning to mix with etudes – which seem like photographs capturing the beauty and elusiveness of life. Fryderyk Chopin presented in the show is an extreme artist, demanding towards the others but at the same time offering his whole heart to them. He is aware of the times he lives in, declining to accept the realities around him, deliberately living against the mainstream. Staying away from predominating global trend and fashions, while living in Paris, he composed music inspired with Polishness and folklore. Full of humility towards art, he is fighting with the surrounding devaluation, mocking the behaviour of "stars" striving to satisfy the audience’s expectations at all costs. Could this exceptional, hard-working artist struggling with the devastating disease, involved with many emotional conflicts and facing many existential dilemmas, could he be a contemporary idol? Or perhaps this "poet of the piano" would be a niche lyrical artist today?
