Category: Drama

"CHOPIN:A DIFFERENT ANGLE", choreography by Krystyna Mazurówna

"Chopin: a Different Angle" does not negate traditional values but aims to go beyond the canonised form of music and dance, reading and interpreting Chopin's music in an up-to-date manner with the use of contemporary forms of movement and electronic technology, while retaining the original composition of Chopin's preludes and nocturnes.

Costumes and stage design by Studio B3
Music by Fryderyk Chopin and Kasper T. Toeplitz
Piano by Ernestyna Bluteauu
Electronics: Kasper T. Toeplitz

Technical requirements
Chamber stage: optimally 10/10 m; 8/8 m at minimum
Height: 5 m
Equipment: 10 stage barrels; obligatory: a truss to put up lights

"A display of perfect dancing and acting. The dancers amaze the spectator with precision, stunning evolutions executed with elusive ease and perfect acting, especially in love duos. Their dancing presents a full scale of extreme, beautifully rendered emotions: ranging from love to hesitation, searching, misunderstanding and finally rejection... If you doubt that some Kamasutra positions are actually feasible – you should see the show.".

Previous executions of the project
Poznań – Polish Dance Theatre's Studio (23rd January, 2010), as part of the Atelier Festival of the Polish Dance Theatre (première)
