Towards freedom. The International Chopin Year 2010

A photographic exhibition of selected pictures taken at three shows titled "Chopinian" and performed by ballet and music group Fryderykian in 2005 and 2006 at locations of historical significance.

The world première of an exhibition which is a tribute to soldiers and victims in the 20th century war conflicts. The subject-matter may relate to similar situations in any country. The exhibition tries to get across the message communicated by Chopin’s music composed in reaction to historical developments. This is a world première.

Technical requirements
The exhibition comprises 40 photographs sized 40 cm x 60 cm and set in Plexiglas clip frames. The exhibition comes with a description of the exposition, a poster and leaflets. Its motto says: "Chopin’s music is cannons hidden amid flowers" (R. Schumann).

Previous executions of the project
The exhibition was displayed at the Ratusz Gallery in Gdynia, Poland, from the 15th of January to the 5th of February, 2010. Next, it will be presented at the Gallery of the Society of Friends of Gdynia (Galeria Stowarzyszenia Miłośników Gdyni) from 15th to 30th March 2010.
