The pictogram provides a unified marking system helping tourists find their way to places and historical buildings with Chopin relevance (routes, parks, squares, monuments, places where Chopin was born and where he and his closest relatives lived, etc.).
The pictogram commissioned by the Chopin 2010 Celebrations Office uses an easily recognisable image of Chopin’s profile designed by Małgorzata Zdancewich. It serves as a unified identification of motor, bicycle and walking routes, as well as particular buildings with Chopin relevance.
To facilitate swift dissemination of the marking across the country, the Chopin 2010 Office is going to grant regional and local tourist organisations a free license to use the pictogram directly on the ground.
To be effectively implemented, the initiative needs active backing on the part of regional tourist organisations’ chapters, acting in collaboration with road management authorities in order to introduce the pictogram along all kinds of roads in Poland, ranging from motorways to local roads.
